Faith and Work

In Hebrew, avodah means both work and worship. That single word is the heart of this house: your daily labor can be an act of service to God and neighbor.

What the Bible says about work

Work begins before the fall — Adam is placed in the garden to work it and keep it (Genesis 2:15). Paul urges believers to work heartily as for the Lord (Colossians 3:23). Work is part of our design, not a punishment.

Calling vs. career

A career is what you do for a season; a calling is who you are becoming and whom you serve. Books on vocation help you hold both.

Practicing faith at work

Integrity, excellence, generosity and rest are the everyday disciplines of faith at work. Small, consistent practices shape a workplace witness.
